Her Story

Called to ministry in 2009 at Empowerment Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of Pastor Jamal H Bryant, Rev Nicole Pyles served diligently on the Executive ministerial staff.  In the middle of a pandemic in July 2020, God saw fit that Reverend Nicole would transition from the Executive pastoral team of Empowerment Temple AME Church to become the Pastor of Bethel AME Church -Chesapeake City, Maryland.   She continues to lead this great congregation with love and excitement and holds to this profound historic landmark in American history with an open heart and hands.  Established in 1873, Bethel continues to operate as the house of God for all people extending their reach with the light and love of Jesus Christ.

Rev Nicole Pyles has served as the Eastern District Caucus leader for the Baltimore Annual Conference Women in Ministry since 2019. She is also the founder of “Eve's Dynasty”: an unmuted dialogue to celebrate, inspire, and sharpen the inner and outer beauty. As an advocate for women and children, Rev. Nicole’s passion extends to mentoring and leadership development. She can be found online and on all social media platforms by providing inspirational nuggets, mentoring, and women’s ministry seminars. Rev. Pyles actively served on the staff of Nspired4life ministries for seven years partnering with people to reach their full potential.  Her collaborative published work, “The Legacy Project,” released July 2016, empower leaders for generations to come. As well, with over six years of experience in Children’s Ministry. She had the incredible opportunity to birth Centennial Legacy Children’s Church at Centennial-Caroline United Methodist Church and ET Lighthouse Children’s Church at Empowerment Temple AME Church. Currently, Rev Nicole is serving as Chaplain of the Stella Maris Family Council, where she encourages other caregivers as for herself and advocates for those medically vulnerable.  She offers wisdom to our front-line healthcare support teams in facilities and homes.

Rev. Nicole Pyles is excited and driven by these empowering avenues as she lives by, “Be ye doers and not just hearers of the Word,” and is eager to please God in her service to God's people.  She has participated in mission trips to South Africa, Trinidad, and Tobago.  As an avid life-long learner who studies to show herself approved, Rev. Nicole is currently attending St Mary’s Ecumenical Institute to obtain a Doctorate in Ministry.  She is a graduate of The American University, Morgan State University, and Wesley Theological Seminary, where she received her Master of Divinity. Rev Nicole ministers within a bi-vocational call with a singular vision as a “helpdesk” to those who find themselves with an anointing to help those get back on their feet.  Professionally she works in Information Technology, serving Maryland's most mission-critical population.  By vocation, she is doing the Kingdom of God not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of the Lord Most High.
